ACAB, Anti-War, and I hate Democrats, Republicans, and billionaires. (Yes, even your favorite billionaire: the pop star, the philanthropost, the legendary athlete, or the soft-spoken investment guru who cosplays as middle class.)
Also, I refuse to use Donald’s last name out of hatred for the man and his brand, FYI.

3·34 分钟前I’m honestly surprised that seeing a headline like this still surprises me in New Germany. All of the fascists and traitors simply walked, even when the decision rested with Democrats.

11·2 小时前Affordability is how you win.
It’s how Republicans won in 2024, and everything’s gotten worse since. We not only need these DSA’s to win. We need 30 of them to do a tea-party-fication of the Democratic Party. These genocide and war-mongering centrists who’ve spent the last 40 years helping to impoverish us all need a reckoning politically in the worst way.

4·1 小时前And yet, all I hear about day in and day out is how auto-piloted trucks are going to take everyone’s jobs.
Okay, VC’s.
Prove it. What’s going to take truckers’ jobs is the fact that American companies can no longer afford to fuel the trucks themselves, thanks to Donald.
I drink, but I’m single and childless, so that covers a lot of financial positivity.
Any show made pre-2008 is going to have a different vibe culturally.
Still a good show, even if it’s not for your tender palate.
Came here to say this.
No matter where you live, the people coming into adulthood now don’t get to experience the world we did, and they know it. And what’s worse is the unlikelihood that any of them will ever get elected federally in order to try and actually change it.

01·3 小时前No, he wouldn’t.
They’d cash in too. And I wouldn’t even mind it if Biden did what he actually promised and Americans weren’t going homeless at lightning speed.

That’s why everything you buy and use sucks now and is perpetually getting shittier.

1·11 小时前Or, instead of that, you can remind me how little you care about egg prices. Because, I gotta say, that last presidential campaign where I was repeatedly told ‘it’s not that bad’ was a whole lot of fun to listen to when I had two elderly parents stuck working for DoorDash.

2·10 小时前My best guess is that they are leaving the country if they can. I doubt people used to these salaries are willing to work three jobs for 100 hours a week like blue collar people, and it’s going to be significantly easier for engineers and highly-proficient tech workers to find jobs internationally.

0·1 天前So we agree then.
I don’t care about civility and I’m not going to use it as an excuse for Joe Biden letting his constituents go homeless and starve. I’d think someone who actually cares about the things they say they care about would be willing to fight for it.

01·1 天前After 2025 and 2026 you no longer get to argue that Biden had insufficient power. That simply isn’t true, as evidenced by Donald. Biden’s actions demonstrate that he did not care about his constituents.
But feel free to lie to yourself. You can’t gaslight me.

0·1 天前LOL
How quickly people on this thread forget that the American people are sick and tired of funding the genocide while they themselves can’t afford a trip to the grocery store, and maybe it’s an issue Dems should take into consideration since it (arguably) sunk the Harris campaign.

Probably better than Greasy Gavin, but still voted in favor of Israel IIRC.

1·1 天前It objectively is not, even on the issue of affordability. One good example is COVID aid, where the Republicans passed more aid at the federal level than Democrats. (And people didn’t forget when Biden did a rugpull with COVID checks after the two Georgia election wins either.)
Though, with both parties being so eminently shitty on affordability, it really doesn’t matter. Biden gave lots of speeches about how much he cared about people’s cost of living but didn’t do anything meaningful to improve it, even with the cost of food becoming prohibitive.
Donald’s dementia is clearly getting worse. I would attribute it to Donald’s fear of being outed for his crimes, which I imagine is extraordinarily stressful. Kind of a bummer that it’s rotting his brain but not giving him cardiac failure.

Political Memes@lemmy.world•Perhaps this will finally make them wake up
01·1 天前Of course.
He (wisely) ran on affordability, whereas the prior administration let you become significantly poorer and then tried to gaslight you about it, as if you don’t do your own grocery shopping.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Am I the only one that believe the US has to go through some sort of painful transition/civil war/revolution to fix it? Is reforms from Democrats enough?
1·2 天前Democrats have no intention of changing anything meaningful. We learned that when Obama had a supermajority and became a black Dubya, despite his extravagant progressive promises.
Our only power is local now, and they know this, which is why they swift-boated Mamdani and ran a Democratic partisan against him.
Yes, it will take a major disruption to necessitate any meaningful change at the national level.

Indeed.
And it makes fun of normal-ass white people way more than it makes fun of queer people, but some people honestly believe that they deserve to be free from all offense unironically. Which is weird.
