<Musk has said the company will sell the robot to the public in 2027.

Elon “Next year” Musk, making idiotic predictions again.
From history we know this might not even be within 10 years!
Anyone who believes Musk just a little bit is a moron.

Yeah, let’s ditch the only products we make money with for some vague promise of future greatness that is only tentatively anchored in reality. Only a true business genius can come up with such great ideas.

Tesla is so far behind in robotics it’s almost Fremdschämen at this point when I hear about Kaptain Ketamine’s plans.

There are TOY ROBOTS here in China that do more and better than his idiotic “Optimus” remote controlled things.

Toy. Robots. I can’t stress that enough. Toy robots are outdoing Mr. “IWANNABEATRILLIONAIRE”!

Oh, this will be a grand success.

They totally won’t get stuck in closets, fall down stairs, and step on kittens. I’m certain they won’t get their hands stuck in the dishwasher rack, get lost in the garage and scratch the paint on your new car, constantly trip over the clothes on the floor and fall onto your glass table and break it. I’m sure they’ll have some sort of non-lethal anti-theft device, so they aren’t stolen when they go out to get the mail. And, if you think it will be spying on you as long as it’s charged and turned on, you don’t know Musk. Musk is a great guy. He would never do that for gooning purposes.

I didn’t read the article, because why the fuck would I? I’m assuming the stupid things are meant for business. Everything I said can be easily adapted to a business setting, especially the spying part.

The Optimus death squad has been dispatched to your house. They’ll get going as soon as the teleoperators finish their lunch break.

I am also sure the robots will “sometimes be led by operators for the purpose of improving reliability” which means you will have some Indian guy walking around your home and waiting for the end of his shift.

Ahh the classic big brain business move of cutting the already finished product with a known demand that has been developed for over a decade in exchange for a “product” that is unproven, has a niche market with very limited demand, with like 2 years of development behind it.

How in the fuck is anyone convinced that this dipshit deserves a $1T pay package? The vagrant guy downtown holding a conversation with a brick wall is a more stable and rational mind than musk.

The earnings report described Tesla’s chaotic year as a “transition from a hardware-centric business to a physical AI company”.
