The California city of San Clemente will officially allow Customs and Border Patrol to begin a controversial new surveillance project within its city limits. The plan, which involves installing cameras on a hill to overlook the Orange County city and its famous coastline, is moving ahead despite a torrent of pushback from locals, including many who attended a fiery, hours-long San Clemente City Council meeting on Jan. 20.

So the state of California should pass a law that prevents fascist enclaves like San Clemente from violating people’s rights in this way.

I hope those in the citizens remember this the next time local elections come around.

Local elections are much easier to sway and replace incumbents.

It’s Orange County, though. I honestly think every headline I’ve ever read about the place involves shooting themselves in the foot to spite the poors, the browns, or the homeless.

Orange County is much different and less fascistic than it used to be. There are still some holdout areas (looking at you, HB), but there are parts that are semi-civilized now. Not that I’d ever want to live there. But don’t write it off completely, there are some decent people there.

There’s an old joke about Orange County I rather like. The one place that LA and San Bernardino both hate, really tells ya how shit it is.

Orange is something else. Had a buddy who used to work for a catering/event company in the area. He basically confirmed Party Down and Arrested Development are documentaries.

Yeah it’s probably the only region of California that I unequivocally hate outside of the Central Valley, which is telling you something because the reason I hate the Central Valley is entirely because it’s a shit drive when I go up to Washington.

Central Valley is engrossed in the same propaganda and social manipulation that damned near every other rule region is afflicted with, Orange county just sucks ass and has since at least the 1910s if my great great grandfathers writings are to be believed.

It’s californiabama. And yeah, it’s a heinous place. There’s a reason everyone drives 100mph (not really much of an exaggeration) on I-5 to get through that shit as quick as possible.

I mean, this is legitimately how the US government operates today, so I think you’re right.
