A masked guy breaks down your door w/o an Article III warrant absent exigent circumstances? Yeah, I’d agree. Trick will be that pressing the murder charge would be federal since a federal agent dies in the line of official work (though illegal), which would give the president grounds to push for death.
Based.
Every American knows what to do when on that jury.
Unfortunately 40% would do the wrong thing just for a taste of some boot.
Conviction requires 100%
Only takes one to cause a hung jury. Rinse and repeat.
You can’t ask those people to starve, they can’t eat anything else but boot, clearly.
they lick it the leather off it.
Local laws may vary but defense of others is typically seen as valid too. Imminent threat of nighttime home invasion is probably in a textbook as the obvious example of when a reasonable and capable person may intervene.
Masked armed thugs stacking up on your neighbor’s door? Tally ho, motherfucker.
Tally ho, motherfucker
A good day to own a cannon, for self-defense. As the founding fathers intended.
why not booby trap
See, now, I went with a spear for personal home defense. Best weapon for the average idiot, you know.
pauses claymore setup am I going too far?
and RPG, and a couple of mines.
Highlander 2077
They make it an easy shot for sure
Note, the law usually specifies defense of the innocent.
Even minor charges against the person you’re defending could complicate your legal case.
Thats what the jury is for
Juries that are notoriously well known for trusting cops and police testimony.
Maybe a little less soon…
But if they’re not available for testimony…
You think every member of the Union won’t be up there on the stand to cry about how great a guy he was?
It’d be complicated, sure, but that’s a drop in the much larger bucket of a case. What does a reasonable person know or believe at the moment of the perceived danger though? Won’t rule it out but can’t see a courtroom conclusion stating that I should have hopped on my computer to do a background check first. I do have evidence of a murderous gang of terrorists targeting people (citizen or otherwise) on American soil, however, and they like to dress up in an imitation of police gear.
Don’t get me wrong, morally you’re almost certainly justified.
It’s just that historically self defense or defense of others claims on killing a law enforcement officer are a huge uphill battle in the courts.
It’s extremely rare for a court to find killing an officer justified.
Arizona with a W rn, look at that
But is it Arizonaw or Warizona?
Not only will they shoot back, more of them will show up quickly. This would not end in court for you, methinks.
As the black panther said, be more than them and carry bigger guns
Do the right thing and not have to go to court? But what’s the downside?
‘you won’t win, so why even bother trying’
Seems like they’d kill you anyways
So does the 4th and 2nd amendment
