    Gestapo literally means “secret state police”.

    It seems to me he created the vid to get likes. His pet phrase is the SA. That’s shit. The average American reads at below 6th grade level, doesn’t know American history, and is lazy as fuck. SA is far worse than gestapo because they’d be annoyed by it (What is it?) and they’d have to google to learn it and they’re certainly not gonna.

      Gestapo literally means “secret state police”.

      IMO this is like saying “Nazi literally means someone who is strict on rules” and “Socialist literally means someone who wants to share all the money around”. It’s true colloquially, but that’s also a crude abuse of a term which actually refers to a real historical group. It’s useless in a political context, and we should attempt to educate people about important things. The school system isn’t doing it, and these issues are more relevant to the average American by the day.

          I don’t understand how your point should be applied to reality.

          Are you suggesting that we shouldn’t mention relevant history to the people who don’t research it on their own?

          Are you suggesting we should ignore history and use the word ‘gestapo’, which the Average American you’re describing wouldn’t understand either?

          Are you suggesting that everyone should dumb themselves down to the level of this Average American so they don’t get annoyed by us?

          I’m not saying this to argue, I seriously want to understand the issue you have with this video correcting a historical misunderstanding and providing education to its target audience.

    What concerns me about ICE is how repeatable it is as an organisation. ICE evolving from border security into an internal terror force is extremely easy to replicate in just about any country.
