Back in April 2023, two middle school teachers from the Escondido Union School District sued the district, the California State Board, and a handful of educational officials over a policy protecting LGBTQIA+ students.

Under the guidance in question, which has since been withdrawn, teachers and school staff were instructed to recognise a student’s gender identity changes and desired pronouns. It also prohibited disclosing students’ identities to their parents or guardians without their consent.

In the suit, the two teachers alleged that the policy violated their free speech and religious beliefs.

After nearly a two-year legal battle, US District Judge Roger Benitez ruled in favour of the plaintiffs on 23 December.

Under the order, employees in the California statewide education system are prohibited from “misleading the parent or guardian of a minor child in the education system about their child’s gender presentation at school.”

Shortly after the ruling, the state filed an appeal with the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Kids are going to be abused over this, emotionally and physically. It’s is also probably going to kill someone. Maybe at a conversion ‘therapy’ camp, maybe on the street after running away, maybe in their own home, at their own hand or someone else’s.

If you’re a teacher and you hear a kid say they’re trans, no you didn’t.

Because in the United States the fact that children are people is not respected. The rights of people are not respected.

Children are treated like property, and in the United States, property owners’ desires are ALWAYS put ahead of individuals’ rights.

Objectively insane and blatantly against the law. That judge needs to be arrested for abusing his position.

Welp, looks like this one might be on its way to the bigoted SCOTUS. If it makes it there, then the outcome has already been decided.

We need allies. Allies who are middle class, who are in positions of power or influence. Without any additional support, our rights will continue to be terminated.
