never read or seen berserk, but every time i see this picture i wonder what is that sharp rock used for below his hand? on one hand i want to know so tell me but i know i’ll be disgusted by it so i won’t go searching for it myself.
The sharp rock was used to try to off himself before he found the fate-drawn fell for it again behelit and because he was at his lowest point he activated it-
iirc and I’m probably wrong but I think he impales his hand on it to draw blood to feed the Fell For It Again Award
Edit: throat
beautiful evil twink = griffith
handsome hunk with a huuuge sword = guts
Granted I have not read Berserk but also I don’t think that is Guts
griffith is the one with that helmet BUT griffith physically CANNOT grow facial hair so the person inside griffith’s weird little helmet thing here can’t be griffith
I don’t understand this
Guts and the band of hawks fell for it by rescuing Griffith who ends up betraying them and the band of hawks, I guess. Although it’s supposed to be (and is) a surprise in the narrative, so I don’t think this works.
surprise in the narrative
Nope the first arc is the blackswords men arc, where Griffith is explicitly named as the enemy of guts, and guts is extremely vengeful towards griffith the reader/watcher does know that something is going bad was going to happen. The Golden Age arc is just kinda written so good that most people forget/suppress it.
Its kinda like the red wedding, where is a LOT of foreshadowing (very blatant via prophecy), but more so even because its actually a very large flashback.
While I don’t think the hawks could have predicted the instantly-apocalyptic magnitude of what would happen, if you listen to almost anything that Griffith says from the moment that Guts meets him, it is very clear that he is neither trustworthy nor particularly interested in altruism or human welfare generally.
thank you
