So hi, my friend said made a post (now deleted) asking for advice on my situation. Well, now I will vent about it. So this woman seemed nice and said she could read my future. I knew it was fake but it seemed fun and innocent, and it was free so I said sure.

She asked for a picture of my palm. Nothing bad, right?

And keep in mind I’m only a sophomore in high school, 15 years old. She then asked so she could do more “accurate readings” on stuff like who my future girlfriend would be, she had to get photos of my chest and hipbones and asked for more and more revealing skin each time.

Gross.

So I blocked her but I feel bad and I’m still kinda attached and regret blocking her because she said she would introduce me to a friend who was also a 15 yr old sophomore but then she wouldn’t give away who it was right away and I didn’t wanna keep this up.

Red flag, don’t feel bad. People lie on the internet all the time. Trust me, I’m Santa

Hey, I’m Santa! Other than that, people lie and conceal a lot on the internet. This person was asking stuff you were not comfortable with. Well done trusting your gut! I would have done the same.

You’re a minor, and an adult is pressing you to give them nudes and semi nudes.

That’s a pedophile, and she needs to be seen exactly the same way that a man her age shaking down a girl your age for nudes would be.

Yuck. That woman is super creepy, and from your description it sounds like she’s trying to groom and exploit you.

You did nothing wrong, she did. She’s exhibiting pretty classic manipulative behavior, and you were 100% right to block her.

No need to feel guilty, but the fact that you do just shows that you’re more human than that creepster.

It’s very common that scammers request pictures you’re uncomfortable with so that they can threaten to send them to everyone they can connect to you unless you give them money. They string you along trying to get you to become attached enough to give them the pictures, then they demand money or they’ll send them to everyone you know. This scam has ended in at least one teen taking his own life that I’ve heard of, and very probably more.

There is no friend who is a 15 yo sophomore, and the person you’ve been communicating with is very likely one or more people working in shifts and also could be men or women. This is their job, or they are being forced to do this, and they are very good at it. They are working on many people at a time so don’t feel bad blocking them. It’s all part of the job for them.

    You can do this :)

This person was definitely a creep, and it’s a good thing you blocked them. If you know them in person, you might want to tell your parents about this.

Update on the lady: She claims to be my girlfriend’s age (17-18) but I’ve seen pictures of her on her social media from around 2021 and she looked like a 20s year old even then.

If she looked 17 five years ago, probably not. There are people in their older teens who look like they’re in their 20s, but not that many 12 year olds who look like adults.

If you haven’t met them in person, it might not even be a woman in her 20s. It could be an old man or a group of people sharing an account using someone else’s photos. There are people who try to get nudes of younger people to blackmail you into giving them money or meeting up with them, etc. The whole situation seems shady and weird to me.

I’m truly sorry you had this experience, and I am so happy you set a boundary and blocked this girl/woman. Do not unblock her. You may miss her presence in your life, but that pain will fade. Focus on other things in your life that make you happy. If you like to draw, every time you think about her go draw. You like video games? Play your favorite game when you think about her. Stay safe.
