    A bargaining chip is only useful if you own it.

    Say you’ll keep it as long as you don’t get bombed any further, and say you’ll give it straight to China the moment the next bomb hits the ground.

        Thats one thing. The materials, surface coatings, and small improvements are all valuable. The literal high temperature parts have close kept technical detail thats otherwise impossible to get at outside espionage or this sort of situation. A few little things gleaned and you’ve got significant gains for very little investment.

      Chinese tech isn’t more advanced in every single respect, and even if it were in this case that doesn’t mean they don’t have anything to learn about particular functions for creating countermeasures.
