I’m so excited to see where this show goes. I can’t fathom what could possibly be in store after a premiere like that.
This was an excellent start to a show.
I loved the timer. Knowing only the trailer going into it I thought the series was going to dump us into an existing world and the season would end with the timer at zero.
Obviously as the episode went on, it became clear we were going to reach 0 in this episode.
I hope the series jumps around and references the timer because I’d love to see more before and after. We got a huge time jump between “Paul” (guy who discovered it) figuring it out and scientists starting to make it.
They also said that they were converting people for months, and had to speed it up because the military caught on. On the TV in the bar, there the news saying the base was on lockdown, but obviously that didn’t really matter. I can totally see a whole espionage episode as a flashback from someone in the military discovering the infection and not knowing who to trust to get to the bottom of it.

It was interesting that the Secretary of Agriculture was the “most important” person alive, nearby & wearing a suit.
I expected Carol to recognize who was on TV as a way of easing her into what had happened. Clearly being in the White House press briefing room is a familiar setting, but I was surprised that the person wasn’t known.
I don’t know if we’ll get a flashback of how the White House/military responded, I’m not sure it’s that kind of story, but it just felt a little bit off.
Episode 2 spoiler
It was mentioned that “they” had to speed up their plans after the military found out. So maybe?
Ahh, what a bit of human incompetence can’t accomplish.
“kids, this is Unity. We sorta used to… date”
Thought it was a really interesting concept and it could go a lot of different ways!
fediverse is dying :(
If you are refering to almost non existent engagement with this post, I think it will get better with time, after the show will gain more viewers and and there will be more posts. It would great to have the same level of engagement as there was on !severance@lemmy.world during season 2 airing.
To add, this is a new show without a following (yet). Severance had all of season 1’s following.
Plus someone has to post first, that’s how you get the ball rolling.
The Fediverse is what is put into it.
This is a brand new community for a brand new show.
Nobody posts because nobody posts and nobody comments because nobody comments is nihilistic and unhelpful.
You have to be the change you want to see.
Is it dying? Or are few people watching this show?
