Tbh I don’t even think supporting him early on really had an excuse. I knew kids that went Marine infantry. They were all unrepentant Nazis. Maybe it was a little different fifteen years before but to go from “anti-war guy” to four terms in the US’ Azov battalion, and then back to “anti-war” politician should raise an eyebrow from anyone but the most gullible rube. And the Constellis and Abu Grhaib stuff wasn’t even really hidden, my partner and I found that out the day after he announced with some really basic research.
