    https://www.factcheck.org/2023/02/limited-evidence-of-a-link-between-acetaminophen-and-autism-or-adhd/

the key word is MAY. Quoting directly from the linked article:

Now US researchers from Mount Sinai and Harvard’s School of Public Health say their analysis of more than 100,000 people is the most comprehensive yet—and provides the ‘strongest evidence so far’ of a link.

Strongest evidence of a link so far only tells us that we should research it more, but NOT that there is any actual connection. There could be a causation effect, and maybe its because all of these mom’s were breathing air with 400x the CO2 and particulate matter than compared to per-industrialized mothers.

Fact is we dont know, and this study at best says we should look into this more and do more research.

Of course, we definitely need to research it more. And I also believe that Lemmy needs to stop self-diagnosing every single little anxiety they have while blaming their awkwardness on autism and ADHD, because it dilutes the reality of people who actually have it.

I just dont like how clickbaity the headline is. Most people wont read the article and too many who do wont understand the difference between “strongest evidence” and causation.

        Its fearmongering for profit.

There is no profit in reporting good news. That’s why we see so little of it, even though it’s all around us.

Daily Mail? Pills increasing risk of disorders in children? Disorders which are apparently hereditary?

I guess it’s a good thing this has spread here, sort of a process symmetric to NOSTR having become a general space, and not just for libertarians and cryptobros.

I like the Daily Mail. Also the Daily Mail didn’t come up with this idea. Havard experts did. Maybe you should write Harvard a strongly worded letter.

Lemmy is a space of diverse opinions. Not just opinions you agree with. You can always start your own community and post your own stuff. That’s what’s so awesome about Lemmy.

I may not support your ideas, but I support your right to post them, and I support your right to start your own Lemmy community.

Autistic people often have worse migraines and need painkillers more often, and also autistic people often have autistic children. So the article is simply aimed at people not understanding statistics.
