There were no bystanders at that insurrection. You were either an insurrectionist, or fighting the insurrectionists.
Even journalists recording the event weren’t really bystanders.
I mean… the ‘journalists here were participating’ strips journalists of all sides of their assumed neutral positions, and prevents us from getting on-site news.
I don’t want the police to be able to rubber bullet shoot European journalists covering Trump’s ICE constitutionally illegal activity… and in the same vein I need to give the same ‘reverence’ or respect to true journalists who were showing the world what was happening during J6.
Journalist don’t need to lose neutrality to be part of the situation. Simply by observing and reporting, they are inserted into the conflict.
Especially when one side keeps killing them.
