Doesn’t sound like much, but waiting for a bus on a bench can make a huge difference.
Guerrilla urbanism is awesome!
a local “didn’t want the bench near their house,”
Fuck that local
I made a small donation. People shouldn’t have to stand at bus stops.
But what if an unhoused person dares to sleep on it?! Think of the neighbourhood! Soon they’ll be crawling with undesirables looking for somewhere to gasp rest??? Disgusting.
(I’m obviously being sarcastic so here: /s)
@garbagebagel @some_guy I really don’t get that bizarre American logic. The way to deal with unhoused people taking up public spaces is to provide them shelters, or better yet, healthier economy for all, so that there wouldn’t be so much unhoused. Removing public seating is just insane.
Empathy is just gone
@Noodle07 Yes, but this isn’t just about empathy. Cities are nicer without the public spaces being occupied by the homeless people, who are sometimes drunk, drugged and dirty. This sounds brutal, but it’s true. So why not have a society that will keep the number of unhoused people at a minimum? It’s better for everyone.
when will they add rain shelters?
& free bus transit for all?
