I never imagined I would see a US Senator get manhandled to the ground and handcuffed by federal agents for asking questions at a press conference.
I’ve imagined it. I’ve also imagined worse, and I’m fairly certain I’ll see it in the not to distant future. Trump is almost at the ‘kill legislators and judges’ stage of his fascist takeover.
I wonder if Democrats will learn something from this, or if Schumer will demand Padilla apologize before next week.

They claim he didn’t identify himself, but the video shows he clearly states “I am Senator Alex Padilla and I have questions for Ms. Noem”

I think it is defined as they are protected in travel to, from, and while sitting in formal sessions, not official duties.

Reminds me of that scene in Pink Floyd “the Wall” where the guy at the microphone starts, pointing out people who don’t belong, and the police just automatically arrest and drag those people out…
