As someone who hasn’t played the games, I’m really not interested in Abby’s story. I loved the series so far, but season 2 will probably be the last one I watched for that reason.

I think I am giving up on this series. It has turned into a melodrama soap opera. They didn’t even include any of the infected in the last episode of season 2. That sealed it for me.

The first half of the second season had me practically overdose on teen angst. It just wasn’t fun anymore.

Yes, exactly, the same for me. I felt drained emotionally. It is veering off to where I thought it would, the Walking Dead syndrome. Too many characters, way to heavy on the personal dramas and not enough about who and what the infected are, their hierarchy, etc. Focus misdirected.

Duh. I really like the way the season was set up and looking forward to season 3. I kept wondering why Tommy was weirdly absent, but once the finale aired it made perfect sense, he was in season 3.

The only bummer here is having to wait 2 years. Hopefully it comes out sooner.

How much of the game does Abby’s story take up? If it will be all of Season 3, why’d they not have a second unit shooting those scenes while Ellie’s side of things. Was it because of the strikes, or was the series only recently greenlight for a third season?

About a third of the game is played from Abby‘s perspective, so it makes sense that the majority of season 3 will focus on her. I would assume though, that the end of the season will focus on Ellie again.

Having both parts be told in parallel within the same episodes does not make sense within the story the game wants to tell. They need to be separate and in this order.

As someone who played and liked the game, I’m looking forward to season 3.

That’s cool to hear, yeah I can’t imagine that they’d show Abby’s story in parallel with Ellie’s, but they could have shot those scenes for season three while filming Ellie’s scenes for season two, especially since the locations may overlap. That way we wouldn’t have to wait 2 years for the next season.

I’ve never played the game, but it’s clear to me that season 3 will be heavily Abby focused.

I’m guessing the last episode (or two) will be more even and wrap up the story of the second game.

Now why do we need to wait two years? That’s a production issue. Could they have filmed then at the same time, possiblity.

Honestly, it’ll get me to at least try season 3. I don’t know if it was the writing or what, but Show Ellie almost completely lacked the intensity I was expecting out of the character last season. Makes me not optimistic for after.

I’d also like to see more of Tati Gabrielle since she’s playing Naughty Dog’s new protagonist, assuming season 3 even comes out before Intergalactic does.
