Queen Elizabeth died in 2022. I haven’t seen any money with the new king on it. Do they think he’s going to die too so just waiting to avoid having to redo the work?
He’s on a lot of coins now. It was jarring the first time I saw him, but I’ve more or less gotten used to it.
Paper money doesn’t have him, but not all bills have Queen Elizabeth either. Most of our bills feature notable Canadians and Historic Prime Ministers.
Replying to myself with This CTV News Article from April 2023:
Once a new portrait subject has been selected, the banknote design process begins, and the banknote is ready to be issued a few years later,” Ferron-Craig told CTVNews.ca in an email on April 12.
So we can probably expect a banknote featuring king Charles in the next year or so.
That’s weird; I handle change regularly for small transactions. Maybe they just dont need to make much coins these days. Digital only getting more popular so just leave the existing ones in circulation.
Notable Canadians.
Devin Townsend on money when?
Right after Bob and Doug McKenzie.
When I think about it, I’m pretty sure I haven’t acquired any coins since they started minting Charles’ face on them.
I only got a nickel and quarter with King Charles on the last weekend, among a literal handful of change.
There are a lot of years of QEII coins out there, though. She’s going to still be in circulation for a many years, yet.
What’s a coin?

He’s there, just not as popular as his mum. She has 70 years of circulation on him.

Every time they print his face on paper, it catches on fire. Not sure if satan related, or if he’s really just that ugly. Scientists in Wales are working on it.
I believe they minted loonies with his portrait late last year.
How apt that he will be the face on an outdated form of currency.
