Don’t hand-wring about violence, tactics, or methods trying to out-moralize or browbeat these fucking people. They literally don’t care. They would fucking love to see all of us lined up and shot or dumped in a oubliette to be tortured forever regardless of their oh-so-hallowed “moral principles” or “rule of law”. They’d hoot and cheer it on like frenzied swine.

And moreover, its why the moral case for socialism is incredibly weak and should not be used. Appeals to class struggle and the dialectical motion of history are far, far more powerful abd difficult to rebut if you know how to wield them.

The moral case for socialism isn’t going to work on the fascists cheering on these murders, but they aren’t the audience. The audience is people who aren’t very political and libs. That’s who might be receptive to socialism (especially if their material conditions prime them for it), and moral arguments like “everyone should have a roof over their head” can work.

Fair enough, know your audience and what arguments are most effective in their particular case and whatnot. But my larger point is that if you can use specific, biting dialectical analysis of history and current events to show the recurring cycles of capitalist crises, class struggle, and imperialism it is immensely more difficult for opponents to weaken or refute than a simply morality-based or humanist argument.
