Loser doesn’t understand that when you beat the big boss the little guys just die or at the very least they stop spawning.

Doesn’t even work as an analogy. Tons of boss fights where you CC/offtank the trash mobs and focus down the boss. It’s a very fundamental MMO strategy.

What video games have they played? From what I remember of MMOs and organized raids, the “small enemies” are usually something you have a minority of your team prepared to handle, while the majority are focused on taking out the big boss. Otherwise you wipe because you run out of time. Which I would say is a much more accurate analogy to successful toppling of ruling classes, historically, whether it was a revolution based in communism or otherwise.

No one whose replied so far is big into strategy games i see.

The reality is actually way more complicated and depends heavily on the situation, your resources, the terrain, weather, etc.

Anyone locking into a strategy that blindly is getting their ass whooped in any half decent RTS/4X. ✋

This person got the wrong lesson from video games. The optimal strategy is usually the exact opposite of what they are suggesting. Take out the small guys only if they are getting in the way. Your priority should always be to focus on the boss, because when the boss dies, the small guys go away. Otherwise it’s a waste of time and resources. Actually an apt description of what should be done. Well, what do you know? Lenin taught me how to play video games :D

There is a political sim/visual novel type game I’ve been playing called Suzerain where you have the option to investigate and arrest capitalist oligarchs, and if you do it ends up reducing gang violence because it turns out the oligarchs were propping up and arming the gangs.
