I remember this stupid article from when it was published. Central thesis: we must burn as much oil as possible or else.

As someone who lives in Gastown Canada; Alberta, I regularly have to hear how we need to keep on extracting oil and gas because if we don’t we’ll fall behind or something else. And it’s just exhausting.

anakin-padme-2 you’ll at least use the money to invest in solar and wind battery technology to turn us into a part of that growing market right?

anakin-padme-3 I have found it better if we just made our companies incredibly wealthy doing whatever they want.

anakin-padme-4 I fucking hate this place

“The West is de-industrialising itself in the quest for Net Zero.”

how stupid do you have to be to come up with this sentence? is this coping? you have to have alternative industries to have net-zero.

Oh yeah the content is nonsense of course, but the fact that even rabid right wingers in UK are now acknowledging the fact that China is winning is itself noteworthy. We’ve hit a point where it’s not longer possible to pretend that China is collapsing and that the west has some master plan.

But the whole point of the article is just that “China burns coal, we don’t burn coal more because of woke, so china will win because they’re not woke”. It’s the same bullshit they’ve been saying for my entire lifetime.

Seems like this guy is trying to juice whatever is left of the “climate change is a Chinese conspiracy” thing from 15 years ago.
