    That’s even worse, not only are you losing all the grannies who whatever there faults are probably giving their actual (racist) opinions on things which is better than people getting payed $1 for every 100 surveys they complete picking random answers or roboforming

    regardless all polling is pretty much useless and can be tailored to give whatever result those running it wanted

      Oh c’mon, that is blatantly reactionary. It’s not worse just because it’s new and you’re unfamiliar with it.

      The benefits of online opt-in panels are that they’re far cheaper, and that participation rates are much higher.

      $1/survey is a standard rate for many reputable polls. Online opt-in panels often include dozens of weed-out questions and cross-checking of your answers against your previous survey results to mitigate those issues.

      Nihilism is so in right now. But seriously, statistical surveys can be peer-reviewed and graded on past performances. I’m not saying it’s perfect, obviously, but you’re throwing the baby out with the bath water here.
