• I think these billionaire fucks forget what happened to bring about these laws. Does Elon want to be a Frick who gets fucking shot? Do they want to deal with another battle of Blair mountain? Do they want a Haymarket?

      • I think you are wrong. The reason why labor unrest isn’t bad is because of the safeguards. People will be fucking pissed if those go. Look at the 2020 uprisings. People still have a lot of fight in them.

The USPS has a no-strike clause baked into the contract so FAFO. Yeah we’re fucking uppity, bring it, shut er down, the whole god damn thing. Carriers just got a 3.9% raise after nearly 2 years of negotiations so good luck. Strike at the ports would look like a 1st grade play in comparison. Once you pop that cork ain’t no shoving it back in

The Post Office had a strike back in the 70s, which was the largest wildcat strike in US history. The result was the Postal Reorganization Act which led to lots of good stuff, but a clause that prevents postal workers from striking.

But, if they nullify union contracts, guess what? We go on strike, an even bigger wildcat strike, and within 5 days there’s gonna be so much shit piled up that it’d take months to dig out. Everyone buys everything online nowadays, FedEx and UPS and Amazon rely on us for last mile for a lot of shit, you name it, it’d be sitting and not going anywhere. No ground shipper would function if USPS just randomly shut down.

Letter carriers have their own union, NALC, and while UPS and FedEx got ridiculously huge raises post-pandemic, carriers just got 3.9%. 3.9%. We’re like hungry dogs salivating at the thought of being able to go on strike, but they got us chained up… But if they overturn labor laws they effectively let us off the leash.

So yeah, go ahead, overturn labor laws and we’ll destroy every small business in America. Good luck and have fun! :)

I’m with you and if I catch some other carrier trying to deliver my mail they’re going to get run off pretty quick. If they touch my mailbox, then I’m calling the cops. I do ship larger packages with UPS because USPS doesn’t have good rates for larger items but they’re also union. I won’t ship with FedEx, fuck that company.

If they go on strike, I’ll chase off the carrier for my apartment every day until we win. That is, when I’m not fighting along with my own union.

Not enough. You have to kill them. Violence is the only reasonable answer. There is no negotiating with these people. They will kill you if you are in their way. One day you will understand who you are dealing with, but it will be far too late then.

I was just at a labor law conference recently and heard a presentation about all these challenges. While the lawyers representing workers in these cases were optimistic, and overturning the Wagner Act was unlikely, according to them, I’m still worried. Billionaires have limitless pockets for lawsuits against the NLRB.

In the end, if the NLRB ends up unconstitutional, there will be one good thing: we can start general strikes again and shut everything the fuck down.

Tangentially related question. When did they switch from wearing red MAGA hats to black ones and does anyone know why? Was red becoming such an identifiable color of hat it was immediately being condemned or something else?

its half elon being an edgelord 12 year old in the fucked up body of an old man, and half symbolizes the darkness that will engulf the states and leech even more into canda than it already has.

My guess is because these assholes all already own red hats and it’s easier to resell them a palate swap.
