am running on linux with KDE and pulseaudio. After the june 13 update i have not been able to get the mic working in game. while it works in all other programs, and in the steam mic test in settings as well.
I was wondering if anyone else that use linux and steam have the mic working at all? anyone?

Thanks for the tip. It is working again now. I had followed that previously. But I also had to select bleeding edge latest untested under proton experimental betas.

For what it’s worth, the SteamDeck is Linux. If something broke for HD2 on SteamDeck, there would be a lot of people discussing it as a major issue.

Is the pulseaudio control panel showing the correct input device for HD2?

To expand upon this, if your mic isn’t working in pulseaudio, it won’t work anywhere else. Confirming your input and levels in there is the first step.

In my case, I have this issue in Valheim where the application will for some reason pick the wrong audio output device whenever the game is launched. This issue is specific to a certain Unity engine version.

I had no idea what was going on until I inspected Valheim though the old pulseaudio control panel. Annoyingly, the GNOME 40+ volume mixer does not facilitate this functionality ootb.

I agree that the pulseaudio control panel is the best (graphical) tool for managing different input/output devices are.
