I’m not sure I agree with this being uplifting. It’s basically law makers doing the bare minimum after decades of propaganda demonizing weed.

Not even the bare minimum TBH. It’s a half measure compared to the bare minimum, which is descheduling it.

Nooooo! We can’t descheduled it, think about CEOs profit!

        Brendan Whitworth; Anheuser-Busch CEO; $12 million/year

Gavin D.K. Hattersley; Molson Coors CEO; $9 million/year

William A Newlands; Constellation Brand CEO; $16 million/year

…of which are just the top 3 alcohol CEOs I felt like putting the time to research.

I feel more lifted up than i did before, so it worked for me. Ngl though, hearing the DEA going away for good would be much more uplifting.

This is not uplifting news. This is depressing that it will still be a controlled substance. This is more like throwmeabone news.

I’ve had to argue with people here saying Biden hasn’t done anything redeeming his entire term despite that simply not being true.

People have incredibly short memories. I wish that weren’t true, otherwise maybe they wouldn’t hold things like this until closer to election time.

Speaking of short memories, I remember that two fucking weeks after he was elected I heard Republicans complaining about the “Biden economy” and for a minute I thought they were being ironic. Unfortunately, they were very much so serious.

Critics point out that as a Schedule III drug, marijuana would remain regulated by the DEA. That means the roughly 15,000 cannabis dispensaries in the U.S. would have to register with the DEA like regular pharmacies and fulfill strict reporting requirements, something that they are loath to do and that the DEA is ill equipped to handle.

just like they killed safer tobacco consumption methods

now we will only have dispensaries that are able to “comply” with the rules
