He used to look cool to a lot of people. He still does, but only to a certain kind of people. They’re made for each other.

Anyway, over here is anything else. I’m happy here.

  • In the letter, the group of SpaceX employees describe Musk’s behavior in the public sphere as a “frequent source of distraction and embarrassment for us.” The open letter was drafted and delivered to SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell’s desk in June 2022, nearly a month after a report by Business Insider claimed Musk had exposed his erect penis to a former flight attendant at SpaceX and offered to buy her a horse in exchange for sex. In response, Musk wrote on X (which was still Twitter at the time) that the scandal should be referred to as “Elongate,” cleverly combining his name and a word to describe an erect penis. “It’s kinda perfect,” he added to finish off another one of his greatest hits on the social media platform.

Emphasis mine. I would have thought it was more about his Twitter antics over the past year but yeah it sounds like they were definitely doing the right thing here by asking their boss to not pull his dick out at work and solicit his employees for sex. I mean Jesus fucking Christ.

  • Maybe I’m dumb (probably), but how is it illegal to fire employees actively talking negatively publicly about you? Can’t find any reasons in the articles and linked articles other than “violated rights”, what rights?

I thought everywhere but Montana you could be fired or quit for any reason OR WITHOUT REASON (“at will” employment) unless otherwise stated in a contract or if for discriminatory reasons based on protected traits (race, age, gender, etc).

If that’s the case, simply saying something like “those employees didn’t fit in with what we want SpaceX culture to be” dismisses the case.

Not sure but I think because it’s specifically because it’s retaliation. You can be fired at any time with or without reason, but if you can prove it was for retaliation or discriminatory reasons or something that is illegal to fire people for, that’s illegal, is my guess

      • former flight attendant at SpaceX

I think I missed the part that the flight attendant was employed by SpaceX and not a private jet company (not that would make his actions any better), but I think you’re right, firing over speaking against harassment of a co-worker definitely sounds like retaliation, thanks.

Interesting it’s someone on SpaceX’s payroll presumably because a private jet vendor would see Elon as a “high maintenance client” and not worth it.
