It’s about turning around rhetoric about Taiwan towards the USA. I honestly don’t see a reason for Chinese people to articulate the nuanced position, like you suggest, of condemning Texas for being 100% Hitler to the USA’s 99%.

It’s also about the HK protest that had a nativist characteristic against mainlanders but westerners seem to think it’s all about freedom and democracy. These are just using western rhetorics against themselves

no but it’s cool that Texas is flirting with secession and civil war

If that civil war does happen, then the real international community gets undyne-joy a nice little treat, and it’ll be like 1917 again

Reducing US the reach of US hegemony? Yeah, that’s probably a benefit for a lot of people (supposing that other powers don’t just fill the power vacuum just to continue exploitation - “new boss, same as the old boss”).

Suffering and death of millions of vulnerable people and non-combatants? Not so great.

Do have to apreciate the great snark/turnabout though, even if I don’t agree.

Yeah, the decline of the U.S. is going to hurt a lot of people, it really comes down to how many, who, and where. It’s ultimately a net good but it sure won’t be pretty.
