As a history teacher, I’ve met a few who would definitely beg to differ. They’re mostly deluded armchair cosplayers or still licking boots from their time in the military.
If you study history intently and don’t come to the conclusion that we must continually topple oppressors and promote communal welfare and accountability, you’re doing it wrong.
I worked in the south (professor) for quite a while. There are a decent number of historians who I’ve met who went into the profession carrying the all of their southern baggage into things to eventually come out hard against the same principles later in their careers.
Much appreciated, here, friend. I have tried other jobs/careers and, honestly, I couldn’t see myself anywhere else (at least for a while). Definitely a labor of love.
