I’m almost impressed how you’re able to waive rape acceptance and rape culture away so easily.

I wish I lived in the world you do.

It’s not an accident that McGregor is being platformed after brutally raping women. It’s not a weird glitch that a rapist was elected twice in the US.

I am not waiving it away. I am saying it doesn’t exist in the way your level of rhetoric typically suggests.

It exists in Hollywood and politics. It doesn’t exist in the culture at large. McGreggor gets to walk while Cain Velasquez chased down the abuser of his kid.

But the Mexican is the bad guy apparently.

I’m curious what your actual take is on these numbers I posted for you. Do you think all 400k+ people who experience sexual violence each year in the US are lying? Or do you think it’s all committed by politicians and Hollywood types?

No, I want to know where that isn’t the case.

Also you provided little information about those who do get justice. It is people like McGreggor Fallon who perpetuate this issues. Don’t act like everyone thinks it’s okay. You are fighting the wrong battle. And at this point are verging on being disingenuous

You said we don’t have a rape culture here, it’s just politicians and Hollywood. In fact, you said this rhetoric was DUMB.

People don’t care enough about rape to blacklist rapists.

Most rapists know their victims. Think family members and partners. It’s not just celebrities and politicians.

Most rapists don’t see jail time.

Is this some kind of sick joke that you’re going to rape someone because it’s easy to get away with it?

                I hope you’re not married.

You know what - you are right. I changed my mind. The West has a pervasive rape culture of men allowed to get away with it. I just checked out my wife and her friend’s search histories and the kind of demented smut that they LOVE is centered around our argument. Archiveofourown, booktok, literotica.

The primary themes of women’s porn is cheating on their SO and getting “taken” by men and monsters. And “taken” is code for Non-consensual but not that they didn’t enjoy it.

The fact that you’re commenting this on a post where McGregor was on an incredibly popular late night talk show after raping a woman so violently she had to have a tampon surgically removed is fucking poetry.

                    Do better.

Should I start pulling up rape statistics for you?

When 1 in 4 women have been raped, it’s not just about politicians or Hollywood.

An estimated 443,635 people age 12+ experience sexual violence each year in the U.S.

2009-2013: Child protective services substantiated or found strong evidence that 63,000 children a year were sexually abused.

Nearly every minute someone in the U.S. is sexually assaulted. Every nine minutes, that someone is a child.

In jail or prison, the institution’s staff perpetrates 60% of all sexual violence against incarcerated people.

Perpetrators of rape are often serial criminals. 370 out of every 1,000 suspected rape perpetrators referred to prosecutors have at least one prior felony conviction, including 100 who have 5 or more.

1 in 6 U.S. women has experienced attempted or completed rape in her lifetime.
