Tell me you’re young, without telling me you’re young. 🤣

Edit: I’m referring to the need for naps.

BRB, going to go take a quick nap. 😴

My mother is 65 and ran a marathon last month.

I wouldn’t want her to try and do parkour or play football, but someone who exercises can absolutely stay fit well past middle age.

I see a 70 year old Japanese lady at my training hike location who runs circles around me. If you can’t jog half a mile then that’s not a youth issue, it’s a “desperately need to do some exercise” issue.

I am not young. You are just either disabled, or unhealthy. A half mile jog is normal exercise, if you are not disabled.

Damn that’s gotta be some of the most ignorant shit I’ve heard. I’m ignoring your assumptions about my health. But since when can’t disabled folk run? Just because they can’t run like you does not mean they can’t run. You need to delete this shit.

Clearly I mean disabled.auch that they can’t run.

No one needs to “run like me”

The qualifier in the comment I replied to was that age was the determinate factor on the ability to jog a half mile. I refuted that and suggested that disability (which impacts the ability to run/jog) or health would be the actual determinate factors leading to someone not being able to run

As is obvious by looking around, lots of old folks can jog. As anecdote, there are several comments in this very thread describing older folks running.

You jumped to a conclusion looking to for a fight, and didn’t think critically.

Edit to be hyper clear: If you CANNOT jog a half mile, you either do not have the ability to do so via a disability, or you do not possess the health to do so.

Your age has nothing to do with it.

You replied to my comment, which at no point did it mention anything to do with running (or activity of any kind). So you were left to make an assumption of what I was referring to in my comment. That because I made a joke about being young, I must certainly be talking about fitness, and suggesting that older people can’t do fitness. It’s not like there are other reasons for my comment. None at all. And the “🤣” wasn’t indicative of my tone either. Nope.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m le tired.

That’s not the case. You replied to a comment regarding running and napping with the pithy “tell me you’re X…” Line.

Thus making the link between jogging, napping, and age.

I refuted that age does not mean you(read: anyone) can’t do those things, and other factors play a more direct role.

              This link is very clear

Are you dissabled? If not we certainly don’t need you being enraged on our behalf, we’re perfectly capable of doing that ourselves; if we find something actually ignorant or offensive.

Like it or not, I don’t have to be disabled to be indignant at someone I feel is being intolerant or ignorant. And believe it or not, I was not doing it for you, nor anyone else for that matter. I am allowed to express my feelings, positive and negative. I will not be shamed into silence, especially when I feel someone is out of line.

In fact, I feel that would set a dangerous precedent; a damned if I do, and damned if I don’t.

            How dare I speak up?

            How dare I stay silent?

No thank you. You have every right to be upset at me, and I have every right to be upset at !GBU_28@lemm.ee, and you for that matter.

Do with that what you will.
