The headline makes it sound like it’s whitewashing or romanticizing Booth, but the sense I got from the article was that it’s highlighting the parallels between Confederacy extremists and the extremists of today. And he wants to dispel two myths about Booth: he was neither a “genius” actor nor a deranged loser.
