9·2 days agoThis graph is a bit skewed as there are many more servers in the U.S that handle both international and national users/customers, than in many other countries combined. (Not all combined countries in this hypothetical are shown.) So while the number of data breaches are vastly larger in number, it would be intriguing to see the comparison of amount of data breaches per thousand servers by country.

I’m right there with yeah. I hate it too. I can’t provide anything comforting except the acknowledgement that I’m right there in that feeling, just as you are.

Frankly it’s amazing we’re accomplishing anything at all as a society…
To be fair, smartphones weren’t used by the masses (worldwide) until the middle to late 2000s. There has been centuries before the smartphone, PC, TV, and radio.

I do see your point of how it amazes you that we have been able to accomplish anything, worthwhile mind you. But this is part of the point of the post. It’s amazing what we as humans all across the world have been able to achieve. But just like the analogy of using a tool, bad/devastating/misuse can still be experienced in all scales.

I was curious what it might have turned out as if it were applied or played with in an art form. Here are some examples.

Strong password managers are your friend.
I’ve heard great things about both Proton Pass and Bitwarden.
