Look obviously the focus ought to be on the individuals being deported and the communities directly affected, but ICE gestapo activity is a broad attack on society and it is worth looking at how it impacts childcare and working families. A quick glance at Twitter shows that her story is being lumped with others who were allegedly killed/received poor care while in captivity, I think they’re trying to shore up the hospitals = Hamas narrative? Why now? If I had to speculate maybe they are afraid of intl. journalists coming in and uncovering more of their war crimes? I think that just a few days ago a hundred plus bodies of martyrs were recovered from Al Shifa hospital, maybe that’s related in the propaganda battle.
The hasbarists are also pumping video of a group of hostages celebrating Hannukah in the tunnels filmed by Hamas, it is actually kind of touching. They say they were later murdered by their captors, I’d put money on it being IOF bombs that did them in.
Yeah gaining IOF captives was part of the logic behind Al Aqsa Storm, this makes no sense (and any information from the entity should be dismissed out of hand). And the potential of losing POWs was one of the big reasons IOF was afraid to put infantry outside of their vehicles at all, let alone go into the tunnels.
I remember people being serious about not being able to get their hair cut as something that needed to be weighed against the utility of public health measures. Or a person suggesting to me that because we have 40,000 automobile deaths a year we should accept that many COVID deaths. No! That death toll indicates a sick society that has accepted needless car deaths, not that that is a baseline number of acceptable fatalities. Then the COVID death toll that first year was probably 10x that number. I don’t mean to get too serious here, there is just this really weird divide between I feel between people who integrate their continued experiences over time and people who are like, yeah no those things I forcefully and sincerely advocated for 3-4 years ago don’t mean anything 
Yeah when I saw a similar headline of “so-and-so corrupt official sentenced to death” I assumed it was like similar things in the past in China where it’s like “and the sentence will be commuted when they stay out of trouble for a few years.”
