

For countries like China and much of the Global South? Yes, that bridge is burned.
But for European countries? I’m not so sure.
Europe really is in a bad relationship with the US. Let’s say the US did a full military invasion of Greenland tomorrow, and declared it a part of Maine or something. What do we think Europeans would actually do? Send a strongly worded letter? Call up Trump and say this is inappropriate given the ”special relationship” with the US that Eurocrats love to go on about? Hell, the day after the invasion the EU might place another order of F-35s. Probably accept even more American hormone-addled chicken.
Europe can talk all they want about how mad they are at American disrespect, but the next time they actually stand up to the US in a meaningful way would be the first.
(And just to be clear, I am as far from being an America stan as is possible)
