  • Those things your former friend said can be normal ideas depending on the area and company you keep. The area of America i live in he would be met with hostility and be an outlier. It’s a large country and the different areas differ culturally. America has a lot of propaganda that cultivates this violent rejection of others as well as America being better or having manifest destiny. Various forms of media seems to cultivate violent misogynistic white supremacy in youths. This country also has huge wealth gap and a shit social welfare system so you have a lot of scared angry people who don’t want to become a have not and have no real community. It’s toxic here

  • I have noticed that those who are born into wealthy families have less of a problem taking limited resources meant for those in trouble. I think perhaps they do consider themselves poor having not ever experienced poverty. I have dealt with shared housing situation similar to yours. There are a lot of people in the world who are suffering because they cannot support themselves so I am frustrated by those who will not and ask others to do it for them. Given how many trans people are at risk of sleeping on the streets and experiencing violence unique to them I might remind this person that they are in emergency housing that is needed by many. I do also agree with what crucifux is saying

  • The large leftist mobilisations that I recall are wto (against globalization), anti Iraq war (against imperialism and islamphobia), occupy wall street (against income inequality), pipeline acess protest (against global warming), BLM (prison and police abolishment) and Palestine (against colonization). These movements all are for the common good. BLM is tied to abolishing police and prisons. Anti racists have been attempting to abolish coerced and unpaid labor in prisons and ice centers. Raising the minimum wage would never reach those people. These other systems of abuse are entwined with class.
There is also a difference between identity politics and anti racism. Anti racism feminism queer activism or what have you are attempting to change the systems that cause the abuse. If anti racism is prison abolishment then identity politics is hiring a black warden. There is also the issue that bigotry if unopposed harms people. people cannot just ignore it. You will probably find if you center bigots you will lose many others. Opposing bigotry is not tearing society apart it is the bigots. I would urge you to read more about the theory behind these movments and imagine a world where a class war is won by bigots and the resulting outcome and the society that comes of it. Without education we will likely recreate our suffering again. I do not really debate and we have probably had as much useful dialogue as is possible.

  • You are said anti racism is wrong. I am telling you that unjust hierarchies must be abolished or the class war cannot be won. If somebody takes money from the current rich without dismantling other unjust heirchies you will not create an equal or just world. For instance very poor people in the past still upheld segregation. I have mentioned race relations and gender relations as they are damaging heirches that exist in the working class. If you want to explain why we should ignore those things and how that will win the class war for everyone have at it.

  • You must lift others up as you climb or there will be no revolution. White feminists didn’t help women by securing the vote only for themselves. White only housing is not a victory for workers but it is a defeat. Rather than ask the subjugated to work to make there oppressors more powerful instead ask privileged to step down . The onus is on the bigot to be tolerant. Without solidarity the class war is already lost

  • Out front my computer knowledge is pathetic but, I have been enjoying articles like this as they are showing what is often referred to as the tragedy of the commons. This practice of companies using extractive practices on systems and destroying them is often used, ironically, as a reason why community management is bad. We are seeing right now the plundering and destruction of public held assets in a new way and hopefully we will see these open source items protected and not privatized as land borders oceans and most other things have been to the detriment of the many.

  • Unconditional love doesn’t mean you continue to love somebody no matter what they do. It’s more that your love flows from your feeling for a person and the love mostly remains steady not being dependant on a day to day action. Conditional love would require an I love you at a certain time or your not loved anymore or whatever have you. Perhaps it is more limerence or a possessive love they have for you. Either way I would get far away from this as it does not sound like they have a respectful love for you. In answer to the question I will stop loving somebody if they do something unforgivable.
