  • This final season is just as good as previous seasons, keeping me hooked throughout.

It felt a bit rushed towards the end though, with some unresolved plot threads.

    whole season spoiler

I don’t mind the heavily-condensed epilogue - that shows what happened to some of them afterwards - since it isn’t really crucial to the story.

The part I mind is the connection between Melon and the mayor that the show hinted at, but never addressed. The mayor clearly recognised Melon’s name when Louis wrote it down. Also, the mayor went to such effort to blackmail Louis’ father, which doesn’t seem worth the ROI.

My guess is that there’s some big conspiracy regarding the Zoolympic and fake meat and Melon’s plan of segregation.

Something this big should not have been left unresolved IMO.

The positives still heavily outweigh the negatives; I enjoyed it a lot. I’m glad it ended the way it did - though I may need to check the manga out to see all the details that were left out.

  • Stream of thoughts:

Hoshino Aqua confirmed for the role of the murderer

Easiest prediction, kinda? Since the plot has to be condensed into a movie, I guess they would combine the mastermind and stabber into one role, so my prediction can still be 100% right.

The competition for Ai’s role is really down to just Ruby and Akane now. I would have placed all my chips on Ruby, if not for the fact that Akane is going last - and we know to always save the best for the last - in their private audition.

    Aqua monologueing like a villain

They have made it obvious from the outset that Ruby takes heavily after their mother. The less obvious one (or maybe it’s obvious to y’all?) is Aqua, who is slowly revealed to be taking after their father.

With only two episodes left, there’s no way they can fully cover this arc. One meta detail is that this season is 11 episodes long, not 12. I bet they would announce a continuation once this season ends like with previous seasons. This would be so meta, but I won’t be surprised if the continuation takes the form of a movie.

  • Sha Ming is spitting facts:

You keep spoutin' off all these excuses,

but you're just chasin' after some chick you have the hots for, aren't ya?

Ooh I’m glad they are going to address Kukrushka, even if it is only at the very end. It’s unreal to think that they would be wrapping everything up in one episode though.

    Actual episode discussion:

Seeing Yuri get cyberised this episode got me thinking: have we ever seen Yuri get cyberised previously? Did all of the Gnosia somehow avoid cyberising Yuri, in all time loops? It’s crazy how this hasn’t occurred before.

Also, what are Gnosia really? We know that they are infected, but by what exactly? If people are cyberised, they would get absorbed into the Gnos hivemind, so I can only assume that they are not some cyberised beings.

Why is the Hoshibune cult so intent on cyberising others? It doesn’t seem like the members are Gnosia themselves (or at least not all of them).

Lastly, I’m surprised that there is essentially no interaction between Yuri and Gnos. I thought it would be more eventful, given that this bug Yuri is a special existence created by Gnos. I guess we would learn the purpose behind Yuri’s creation in the next episode.
