Mythology claims tremendous power in a name. Maybe it predates the term “computer” and even the English language. What if arcane ancient magical incantations were just requests in a regular/structured syntax? What if there is nobody alive outside of the holodeck? Maybe they all retreated into the holodeck thousands of years ago. Who knows what kind of inhospitable alien environment you might suddenly find yourself thrust into.
