As the world falls, young Furiosa (Anya Taylor-Joy) is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers into the hands of a great biker horde led by the warlord Dementus (Chris Hemsworth). Sweeping through the wasteland, they encounter the citadel presided over by Immortan Joe (Tom Burke). The two tyrants wage war for dominance, and Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.

Part of me loved the overall look of the trailer, so vivid! Part of me also said, “huh, something feels really off”.

After how successful Fury Road was, I have a hard time believing Miller would make a CGI heavy movie.

That’s my hope anyway. I love Fury Road.

When people say it doesn’t have a lot of CGI, they mean big stuff like the explosions, cars, and actors. Sure there was tons of vfx work done to touch up the shots and add background assets, but the important things were all real. The worry is that they go full Disney and just have a bunch of actors on a giant green set.

There’s behind the scenes footage you can watch of all the stunt cars.

He also made the Babes and Happy Feet too, though. At 78 and with COVID raging during production I doubt he did a lot of stuff practically this time unfortunately.

Something about the way this looks made me expect a Netflix logo at the end.
