Had green gooseberry bushes right by a cherry tree when I was a kid. Would eat those sour bastards till I was sick
I had so many gooseberries this year that were days from ripening, until one morning they were all gone :(

I pulled these a little early and let them finish the last couple of days on the counter because I’ve been being plagued by scrub jays stealing my berries all year
I just made some jam from my gooseberry bush last night. So glad I got to it before the birds!

Absolutely amazing! Similar to strawberries in a way but with it’s own flavor. They’re way too tart to eat fresh
