        What type?

        I generally think of myself as being most like a signed 64-bit integer.

          I prefer unsigned 7-bit integer. Not immediately what you think you want, but still surprisingly useful.

          Critical for most modern computer systems?

          I’d probably be a functional type: useful where available, takes some understanding to work with effectively, but most things can do without me.
