Only small security teams were armed. Some service members retreated into hotels and had to find their own food, including by ordering takeout. Others, with no other protection available, dug their own foxholes.

“Oh god o fuck I signed up to kill people not actually have to deal with the realities of war!”

    Just lol. lmao, even.

I mean, what’s your service rifle gonna do for you when Iranian drones and missiles are raining from the sky? Is the article saying that those soldiers would have stayed at their post in the face of getting bombed if only they were strapped?

This isn’t even the worst if it, but Hegseth and Yrump fucking hate the troops lol, even i wouldnt fuck with them like this

Then, in July, service members were told they were finally going home. They were sitting in the terminal waiting for their flight when they were ordered to stay. Many had already thrown away their bedding and hygiene items. They couldn’t replace them.

It’s from the perspective of the wife of a stormtrooper, but it was a funny phrase. How the cat and the furniture go first.

Less amusingly it is also a war crime to embed your military into civilian housing, because on one hand it’s using human shields, and on the other it encourages you oponent to just blow up civilian housing.

Does anyone have that very early picture from a damaged US base where a sign with that stupid slogan (someting like “join the army, meet interesting people and kill them”) was visible?

They learned that hostilities had begun the same way most Americans did: from the news.

Me when I finally realize the bombs I’m loading onto the B-52 are actually used to kill people

Multiple sources told MeidasTouch they could hear service members calling for help from inside the flames, but that because of inadequate emergency response and a lack of preparation, they could not reach them.

Wow similar to the tens of thousands of Palestinians you were gleefully bombing for years, on video.

Near the end of the deployment, a hangar storing everything troops were preparing to ship home took a direct hit, destroying gear and personal belongings.

Average US Marine barracks is filled with funko pops and gaming PCs, nothing of value was lost

“That really killed morale,” one source said

Some service members retreated into hotels and had to find their own food, including by ordering takeout

Just full on admitting that they’re hiding in civilian infrastructure. Also the UAE has disgustingly exploitative delivery practices, they probably spent like $2/meal and gave the guy 10 cents as a delivery fee.

They described leadership as “rudderless,” caught off guard by a war no one had prepared them for on what was supposed to be a peaceful tour.

Classic overseas deployment, just a cheeky holiday, we’ll be back before Christmas! Every USian soldier contradicts themselves all the time. “Respect me for sacrificing my life to protect you” but at the same time they pull this bullshit about being deployed “peacefully”, which one is it?

During the initial wave, some hid in a mall parking garage for hours, protected in part by other U.S. service members and Bahraini forces. Sources say some of the children were so traumatized they couldn’t eat for days.

Skill issue I fear, I would just not bring my kid overseas while my country is at war with another country.

Sources also say some residential buildings were targeted because Iran knew U.S. service members lived in them, and that some active-duty members were moved into residential buildings and hotels that were then struck by Iranian drones and missiles within hours.

When “israel” bombs hospitals and residences, it’s because of khamas hiding there, when Iran bombs US soldiers self-reporting they are hiding in civilian areas, we have to weep for them.

“Every thunderstorm they ask to be sure it’s not missiles. If we’re keeping too close of an eye on them, they are suspicious that something is wrong. That missiles could be coming to our new home back in the US. My children’s innocence was stripped from them.”

Complete cognitive dissonance, your spouse is part of the largest terrorist group in the world and you’re crying because your kids have a minuscule fraction of the emotional scarring as the children you’ve been terrorizing.

… the deepest scars are “the psychological scars of being used as a chess piece while Pete Hegseth thinks he’s a version of Call of Duty where the consequences aren’t real.”

Where do these mouth breathers think the word pawn came from?

The term pawn is derived from the Old French word paon, which comes from the Medieval Latin term for “foot soldier” and is cognate with peon. Definition of Pawn (NatoPedia)

“I actually felt deeply ashamed to show my American passport,” she said, “because the local people in Bahrain were now forced to stay behind and suffer the consequences, while I had the privilege of leaving.”

Will this hog be rehabilitated, or will she forget about this event 5 years from now, I wonder…

    …

Done reading, took way too much psych damage for one article
