Or even musical farts like when Peter outfarted Michael Moore on Family Guy

      • I use Musescore but it doesnt have VSTs like that. You might be better off with a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) like Ardour that has a piano roll feature. You can add VSTs easier that way.

Do you really need to scan the sheets to digitize them, or are the songs popular enough for identical or similar MIDI files to already exist online? Or, alternatively, could you easily program them yourself in a MIDI sequencer app or DAW?

Is there an open source derivative of this?

Genrally speaking, https://alternativeto.net/ has answers. Not for “Sheet Music Scanner” literally though. Feel free to broaden your search.

edit: sorry, can’t help bickering: Derivative would mean that the app must be derived from this specific iOS app. Since the concept of the app is not unique by a far shot, you probably mean alternative. There are extremely few actual foss derivatives of anything, although the Linux kernel itself could be described this way, at least historically.

Convert the sheet music to MIDI and play that through a synthesizer that has loaded pitchable fingersnaps.

Same as what the other commenter said basically.
