The official opening of the memorial complex “To the Heroes of the Battle of Stalingrad” on Mamayev Kurgan took place on October 15, 1967.
The memorial complex “To the Heroes of the Battle of Stalingrad,” with the monument “Motherland Calls!”, commemorates the heroic deeds of the people and serves as a reminder of the price of victory.
The sculptor of the memorial complex on Mamayev Kurgan was Evgeny Viktorovich Vuchevich (1908 - 1974).
