“Rages”
He’s right. Noah is acting like a youtuber here instead of actually attending meetings and meeting the candidates. We don’t need to continue to endlessly debate within the DSA - we need to be door knocking and campaigning and talking to our neighbors and voting.
The DSA is ultimately still a reformist org that lacks discipline and a coherent political line. Fixing the DSA is more important than door-knocking, which would either require a major shift to how the DSA functions or a split from the DSA.
We’re on the cusp of the midterm elections.
Focusing on in-fighting is probably not the direction we need atm.
I understand that the midterms are near, but that’s also why it’s so important to actually fix the DSA and push it from reformism. The DSA isn’t even democratic centralist, constant debate is a systemic problem that can be fixed by fixing the DSA!
It’s a balance and I think Hasan was right to gently push Noah to do more than make another video about the DSA internal debates.
Also my initial comment was more highlighting that Hasan isn’t raging at Noah here.
To be clear, I don’t really care about Hasan or Noah here, but about the direction the DSA either needs to head in or split into. To get those outcomes, people need to be willing to push boldly ahead.
Noah did do those things.
Door knocking for whom, Hakeem Jeffries?
Hasan is clearly talking about this specific scenario where Noah is asking for more talking points about the debate within DSA for a youtube video.
What debate? The pinnacle of the DSA is all endorsing Hakeem Jeffreys. Be it Zohran Mamdani or AOC
It is the leadership of a movement that decides its direction, not debates between its members.
…did you watch the video you posted?
He says he has spoken with members did you watch it?
Noah doesn’t speak at all in this video, what are you talking about?
Yes he does. Watch the video.
