145 years later and capital still won’t let us have socialism, at least fully, certainly not in peace.
that was the big take i got from the war museum: stalin (and the ussr) saved the world from fascism and they would never forgive them for it.
was the IWM worth visiting despite the anti-communism ?
yes, i cried at times walking through it. growing up in america, there were many things i didn’t understand/appreciate/grasp about the conflicts. there was also a very small displayed QR code that linked to some queer history of the wars that i didn’t get a picture of. Link two of queer history. I was incredibly moved by the 5th story.
there was also a flag from the october revolution that for some reason i can’t upload pictures of at the moment
