Hey comrades :) <3……just wanted to check in and share a little update.
It’s been a couple of days since my last update about the eight queer refugees I’ve been telling you about and I wanted to share something different today.
First, thank you to everyone who has been following their story. A lot of people have been quietly reading, liking, commenting, bumping , sharing and I really appreciate it.
Someone even asked me recently how I met these people, which made me realize that people are actually taking the time to understand who they are and why I’ve been sharing their story.
I also noticed something I had somehow missed when I checked the campaign a few days ago…Someone donated $100.
That brought the amount still needed from $2,990 to $2,890.
To whoever donated, thank you. It genuinely means a lot and now I want you to meet one of them.
🥖 This is David.
David is one of the eight who recently arrived in Gorom after leaving Kakuma.
He used to work in a bakery in Kakuma, which gave him a way to support himself and save money.
After everything that happened there and the repeated insecurity, he ended up using some of his savings to help other people get to safety too.
Now he’s in Gorom and wants to start working again but he doesn’t have the basic equipment or money needed to restart.
That’s why part of the $2,890 goal is for helping him get the bakery work started again.
Because I don’t want this to only be about emergency food and surviving from one crisis to the next.
I want them to eventually have a way to support themselves and rebuild their lives.
I’ll be introducing you to more of the eight in the coming updates because I don’t want people to only know them as a number.
They’re eight individual people with their own stories, skills and hopes for the future.
They still urgently need help with food, safer shelter, clean water, sleeping essentials, medication and other basic needs.
If you can donate, the support link is in my profile.
If you know an organization or someone who works with LGBTQ+ refugees or humanitarian support please consider connect us.
And if you can’t donate, please keep boosting and sharing.
Thank you for continuing to listen. 🫂
They need more than survival. They deserve a chance to rebuild.

Bumping
Thank you for the bump, comrade. I really appreciate you keeping their story visible.
I appreciate you fighting for you and your comrades

Thank you, comrade. I’m just doing what I can from where I am. It means a lot knowing people are standing with us.
Thank you to everyone who has been keeping their story visible. If you can donate, boost, share or connect us with someone who can help these eight, please do. Every bit of support matters.
