While doing the 10 years anniversary expedition the planets are plastered with communication beacons, bases, and other stuff that totally destroys the immersion.
I turned off multiplayer but all those things seem to stay.
I get that NMS is a multiplayer-first experience nowadays but how can I immerse myself in the old “last traveler” idea?
You don’t.
It’s been a tremendous gripe for years.
And to those who knowingly do it anyway (farm bases etc. excluded) a pox on your house, especially comms at waypoints, no-one wants to read your message.
Your options are get in there hour one or suck up not being able to see your goal. It’s not the end of the world, but it is annoying. Being able to turn it off would be awesome.
I don’t mind the bases, but the beacons are definitely a nuisance. I report them, and many of them get removed.
Activate Airplane Mode / turn off wifi / unplug ethernet. I always disable all network communication while playing NMS, because i’m also annoyed of all these evidences of other players.
