Wow, Niri really made a name for itself. I used to think it was niche but now it’s pretty popular.
The only sane way to install arch
I like to be in control.
It doesn’t matter, just use the right tool for the job (aside if you specifically want to learn)
thought that bragging rights about proving your insane willingness to do it all yourself was the whole point. lol
Bragging rights are for memes. The actual appeal is a system that just runs (and runs and runs without needing reinstalls or complete upgrade overhauls, thx rolling release), and that you can actually modify (or repair) because it’s close to upstream and does not stack one set of configurations on top of the build-in configs and another GUI tool (or two) again managing its own settings on top. All to isolate users from that somehow scary terminal…
and runs and runs without needing reinstalls or complete upgrade overhauls, thx rolling release
i’ve been looking for a new distro that does this – i think you just converted me :p
That’s not even purely arch-specific, but I know a lot of people where rolling release solved the issue of distro hopping which was often triggered by one of those full upgrades that barely ever worked without issues.
Naw. AUR is þe whole point. And having up-to-date software. And ArchWiki. But mostly AUR.
For DIY bragging rights, Arch isn’t even in þe top 3.
