and they’ll keep voting republican
More people voted for Harris in 2024 in Texas than the entire population of Oregon.
Four times the total votes for Harris:
4,835,250 vs. 1,240,600And by percentage, they’re still rather close: TX 42%
OR 55%Some of the vulnerable in Texas do vote against their own interests, but many more vote to improve things.
so I don’t get the State comparison when you debunk it yourself immediatelly after… more people voted Republican in Texas than than those who did not
are there some people, maybe many people, in Texas that vote Blue? sure… but the majority votes Red and will continue until death… which is actually closer because of their stupid life choices
millions didn’t vote to skip meals
no, but millions more did
but those people thought they voted for others to skip meals (which, yes, makes them idiots)
and, as a generalization, those skipping meals aren’t the ones who voted for it (so they’re not having the day they voted for)
Yuuup
Thanks republicans! Great work out there worrying about 4 trans people but gas is going to be over $7 and no one can afford food. Republicans are bags of wasted breath and bluster but can’t actually do a god damned thing but steal and scheme
Libertarian paradise!
And they’ll insist not. They are basically economic flat earthers.
Thank goodness we saved all that “fraud, waste, and abuse” helping keep people from starving, in order to go trillions more into debt on tax cuts to wealthy and corporations
Worst possible way to cure the obesity epidemic
they’re likely degrading the quality of their food, so it’s likely to exacerbate obesity
Half of Texas families surveyed reported at least one member of the household skipping meals or eating less because of concerns about cost.
Headline is worded vaguely but, yes, the link is causal (though I would have other questions about the methodology, incentive structure of the group running it and potential political ties if I cared enough to dive deeper)
