i hope he has enough money to live the rest of his life or the ability to find other work because he won’t be working in hollywood anymore i imagine. but good on him for standing up
I’m pretty sure he’s made a killing off the Dune films alone (and the third one is coming out this December) and has received plenty of accolades for his past roles that cast hirers won’t ignore easily. Plus, there’s plenty of Hispanic filmmakers that are left-leaning that I’m certain will happily continue to work with him even if Anglo cinema rejects him. He’ll be more than fine.
He’s also amazing in that miniseries remake of Cape Fear
I remember watching The Sea Inside about 15+ years ago with my sister and brother in law… fuck… only twice in my life did I cry during a movie, that was one, and the other was the lion king which I saw just after my dad died.
At the end of the day Hollywood is about making money and there aren’t many Javier Bardems around to make money off of.
I can’t believe he’s the guy who played Anton Chigurh.
