Let me tell you a tale of old man Sanders and how a certain party rigs those primaries to fuck him over.
Hillary got more votes than Bernie did. I like Bernie too, but he just wasn’t popular enough. Specifically with Black voters in the South, which is the base of the Democratic Party.
I’m old enough to remember those primaries. Every news channel was talking 24/7 how Hilary has the primaries in the bag because all the superdelegates already pledged to vote for her. For months Bernie was getting more votes in every election but the media was saying that Hilary is winning. So yes, Hilary was more popular. She was more popular because party leadership supported her from day 1 and media kept telling everyone she’s more popular.
The race was decided long before primaries were over. At that point people likely didn’t even come out to vote for Bernie
Speaking of people not voting for Bernie - he’s very popular with independents, who would have been unable to vote for him in a closed primary if they weren’t registered as Democrats.
